It is a paradise to the locals and tourists alike at the evenings. Juhu beach is the most fantasized tourist spot of the commercial capital of India, Mumbai. It is one of the largely visited beaches of the western coastline of India. The Juhu beach area is also a famous shooting spot for the Indian movies because of its fascinating look. Juhu beach is located at 25 km north of Mumbai city center, the western coastal Metropolitan city of India. Mumbai is the capital city of Maharashtra, the South Western state of India. The Juhu beach continues towards the north with the Versova beach. The beach is on the shores of Arabian Sea.
SEASON
The climate of the beach is cooler than the main city area with the cool sea breeze blowing from the Arabian Sea. The beach is always a favorite for the local people there, regardless the season. Though during the summer days it is more crowded than in winter. During monsoon it rains a great deal.

HISTORY OF POPULARITY By understanding the maximum proximity of the Mumbai city and the costal line, the British have already made the area into a hub of pleasure seekers of the tiring city life. For the time being the beach is full of shops, fast food centers, cafes etc. ACTIVITIES Besides the usual chores of the beach there are some exciting beach sport and entertainment options to avail from. The donkey rides, acrobats, horse and pony rides, toy sellers etc. are a common site on the beach especially on the weekends. One can jog along the beach or go for a spin in a tiny rented boat. Juhu beach is famous for its local Mumbai food like the bhelpuri, badapao, batata bada etc. these are the mouthwatering commonly preferred and reasonably priced dishes which anybody can give a try. Besides this the kulfi that are coated with dry fruits and nuts are a favorite during the summers. The small home made toys and small articles are really eye catching. VICINITY
Gateway of India is an exaggerated colonial marker conceived following the visit of King George in 1911. this marvelous arch of triumph coming under the Muslim style of architecture is located on the shore of Mumbai Harbor in Colaba. The gateway became a popular emblem of the Mumbai city and it is a favorite spot of the locals on evenings.
Prince of Wales Museum is an Indo-Saracenic styled building is located in an ornamented garden and boasts a galleried hall , a huge dome on top. The collection of this museum includes impressive sculptures from the Elephanta Island, Indus Valley, European paintings, etc. this museum is open on Tuesday to Sunday from 10.15 am to 6 pm.
Chowpatti beach is a favorite evening spot for courting couples. Eating bhelpuri at the collection of stalls on the edge of the beach at night is an essential part of the Mumbai experiences. But the area is less preferred for sunbath.
FAIRS AND FESTIVALS
If wishing to witness one of the biggest events of Mumbai while visiting the Juhu beach, one can surely make it the Ganesh Chaturthi, an 11-day Hindu festival in August/September, which reaches a climax when large images of the elephant-headed god are immersed in the sea, notably off one of the exotic beaches of the city. The Elephanta Festival is a classical dance and music event on Elephanta Island. One can give a visit as an excursion trip just few kilometers away from the beach. This festival is usually held in the month February.
TRADITION AND DRESS CODE
Local people are still conservative. And the visitors should be dressed decently. Avoid littering the beaches or polluting the sea.
SHOPPING
For those who wish to have a serious Mumbai city just 25 km away is advised. There are all kinds of things available ranging from dress materials to souvenir items. Mumbai is India's great market place. From November to January every Sunday K. Dubash Marg hosts the Kala Ghonda Fair- a celebration of arts and crafts with performing arts, and food with handicraft stalls. The main markets are Crawford market (fruit and vegetables), Mangaldas Market (silk and cloth), Zaveri Bazaar (jewelers), and Chor Bazaar.
ACCOMMODATION
Juhu beach has number of options to stay in. it has some famous and costly resorts just near the beach. One can find a bit reasonably priced hotels and lodges to stay with the minimum facilities required. Five star hotels like the Sun N Sand, Holiday Inn etc. are some of those five star category hotels that are the most sought after hotels of the elites few. Hotel Centaur Juhu is more luxurious.
HOW TO REACH
The Mumbai city is well equipped with the International Airport, Sahar and the Domestic Airport, Santa Cruz. To go to Juhu one can board a taxicab from the airport to Juhu beach. So getting there is very easy as this place is well connected to the other parts of the city. The double Decker buses, one of the unique specialties of Mumbai are plenty. Many of these buses connect the Juhu beach area with the rest parts of the city. The local railway that runs inside the city is one of the dependable ways of communication. These trains connect almost all of the city area. To sum up, Juhu beach is one of the most well connected places of the city.

All the modern facilities are available in Juhu beach as it is a tourist spot. STD, ISD, Internet centers are mushroomed out.
SECURITY PRECAUTIONS
Not in the case of Mumbai or Juhu beach only, keeping one's ears and eyes wide open while roaming in an unknown place always pays. It is advisable to keep the belongings well locked and should not left behind carelessly.
